And the winner is....

Mr. Darcy by 1 vote! Honestly, I was a little surprised at the beginning of the poll. Mr. Knightly held the lead for quite a while. Mr. Knightly, you are my favorite, though. (Although, Gweneth Paltrow isn't my favorite Emma.) The poor men of Sense and Sensibility didn't even stand a chance. Sorry boys. You're still great and better than most other romantic heroes. How nice of Ms. Austen to give us such lovely men.

This is totally not Austen-related, but if you at all like "Wuthering Heights," you should see the 1992 (?) version of Bronte's book. Ralph Fiennes makes a fabulous Heathcliffe. Such a sad story, but still, I was sucked in. Another Bronte movie to see is the A&E version of Jane Eyre. Grant it, I've only seen one other version (one from the 90s I think), but this one takes the cake. Ya know in the book Mr. Rochester is supposed to be a somewhat unattractive man, but the romantic in me just won't allow that. I think this movie does a good job at making him look the way he should.

P.S. Can I just say how pleasant it is to come to my blog and see Mr. Darcy/Colin Firth right there?

I voted for Knightly, cuz as hot as Colin Firth is, I need a Knightly/Cameron.
However, I must say that you forgot Captain Wentworth from Persuasion (which you must see [another BBC] if you haven't). There's a lot of Col. Branda in him, but he's the lead hottie of the book. He would've gotten my vote!
Next: I LOVE the Ralph Fiennes/Juliette Binoche Wuthering Heights. I recorded it back when it first aired on TNT and ran the tape ragged. That movie makes me ache. So well done.
I'm glad that we're becoming friends. :)

I've always liked Jane Eyre as well! (The book, I've never seen the movie.) I read Wuthering Heights so long ago in high school that I barely remember anything.

Jamerlou, if you see a Jane Eyre movie it must be the 1944 version with Orson Welles, Joan Fontaine and a very young Liz Taylor.

Kay, I obviously check your blog more than I should, but I would also like to add that I also think it's very plesant to see Colin Firth and Jeremy Northam every time I come...it's probably why I keep coming and posting and posting and...well anyway.

It appears that this post may stay front and center for a while...I am really not sure from my limited perspective it seems that Mr. Darcy is quite a dull person...

I'm sure the ladies would agree with me. Darcy represents all that pent-up passion and self-restraint required in the society of that era. This is why he's exciting. He is a gentleman. (and Pemberly ain't too bad either).
Angie, post something new or I'm seriously going to really embarass myself on this post.
