The Year of 30

I am a huge fan of goal setting and love the idea of New Year's resolutions. This year is a special year for me and will therefore have some slightly loftier goals than normal with a lot more hardwork put into them.  This is the year I turn 30.  Many of my friends have already hit this major birthday and I am inspired by their general wonderfulness to go at 30 head on and embrace, even celebrate it.  So-for the next 12 months, I will be continually setting goals (and reaching them) to make the next decade better then the last.

First things first-we'll take care of the surface cleaning.  I am going to have a very active year starting with my goal of working out 3x a week this month.  Trimming down a little would be nice, but is not the ultimate goal here.  The summer of 08 was my most physically fit period of my entire life.  I looked pretty good if I do say so myself.  But more importantly-I FELT the best I've ever felt.  I had abundant energy.  I had confidence and I was happy.  That is what working out is all about.

Next-Getting to the temple is proving hard for me.  Maybe I'm intimidated by calling a babysitter for this.  Maybe I'm lazy.  Either way it needs to change.  The goal? My temple attendance in 2010 is going to be the best it's ever been since having kids.  My goal right now is 2x a month-once with Jeff and once to do initiatory work with my temple buddy.  (Melissa-we need to plan a time!!)

I'm still working on my list, so if you have any great ideas to share for celebrating 30, pass it on.  The list will get longer as I get more involved in this.  I can't wait!

(My spell check is gone-so excuse any misspellings please.)

I love the goals, and I need to do some of the same. I would love to trade temple babysitting. I can watch your kids and Melissa's if needed so that you can go. Then maybe you can watch Nora when I go. It would be great to get to the temple more regularly. Let me know what you think.
I also want to feel more physically fit, but I still have no idea how to do something that is fun for me. That will be my goal, to find some physical exercise that works for me. It may take more than a year though... I hope not.

Great goals! I don't think I did anything big for 30 for some reason it just felt like another day for me. :)

Great Goals Angie! You're always so inspiring, I don't comment all the time but I'm always impressed with how much you accomplish and all with three kids-wow! We'll have to do a swap babysitting, we'll watch your kids while you go to the temple and then you can watch ours while we go-sound like a deal!

My main goal rigt now is to read the Book of Mormon this year by April 5th - it is our stake goal to and we are to focous on Jesus Christ by underlining in three different colors the following -Names of Jesus Christ, His attributes and His spoken words. I have been dillegent in this and have gained a greater perspective of our Saviors life and what he expects of us. You can join in if you want

I think I will Sherilyn. That's funny your stake's deadline is April 5th. I had already given myself a deadline to finish by April 4th-my bday. I like the idea of underlining the things you mentioned in different colors.

I have loved my thirties. I am staring 35 in the face and it truly is another milestone, but I'm actually excited about it. Your goals are impressive ones, Angie.
